I went here yesterday with my friends. I think it's a bit of an old mans pub, but still nice. We went here after being at the solid. I liked the wee booth we were sitting in.

This was my first time since in here. Can't be a bad place, as all my friends like this place. Worth checking out yourself. I can't comment on the booze as I was drinking coke from their long glasses.

They also have seating out the front.

They had seating area through the back that I never checked. Check it oot, as ye know ye want tae

Not as Scary as it looks

Walked passed here many a time and thought "No Way Jose"! But nature called and 98p for a bootle of carlsberg is a small price to pay for the use of the "patrons only" toilets.Have to say it wasn't as I'd feared. The bar staff were pleasant and the patrons equally. Yes, it's a wee bit spit and sawdust, but perfectly amiable on a Tuesday afternoon.. However a Saturday night might ne a different story? :/

This friendly wee bar is situated just across from Central Station. Despite being almost at the centre of the action, the atmosphere is pretty laid back, it is easy to get served and the staff are friendly. The soft drinks are cheap- often a sign of a good bar that isn't out to scalp anyone who isn't steaming- and the trade is mostly regulars- strangely fora city centre bar.

The style is old fashioned- this pub would not be out of place in suburban Glasgow, but it has become a little bit of a meet up point for more mature clubbers early on weekends. Certainly safe and welcoming, it is old fashioned and respectable.

Toby Jug is not really the sort of place I would usually go to, but since it is near central train station I thought I would pop in to see if they had a pool table as it looked like a place where you would put 50p on the end of a table to mark your spot in the queue.

I can't say I really fitted in being female and under 40, but the pub was fine. The price of lemonade and blackcurrant was only £1 something, which is better than most modern bar who will charge you a couple pounds more.

Although you wouldn't go here for cocktails, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, kind of like a community feeling of a small town not a right smack bang in the city centre pub!

Despite, being a bit shy in years of the usual drinkers in here I love it. Don't get me know, it's not the kind of place I'd head out for a glamorous, glitzy night with my highest of heels on.

No, it's more for a quiet, relaxed and laid back drink in your oldest pair of jeans. It's also particularly good if you happen to be - erm - leaving a party at a dis-respectable hour and are looking for a liquid lunch before heading to bed.

The prices are good too, especially compared to the surrounding pubs just a few doors away, so you'll still have some pennies in your pocket on the way out the door. Speaking of doors, there's also Dino's fish and chip and pizzeria right next door. Perfect for grabbing some alcohol soaking chips up on the way to the bus home.

Therefore, it's fairly quiet and has a nice relaxed laid back atmosphere even though it is right in the middle of town. Good for a quiet drink and catch up with a friend or for a relaxed start/end to a friend filled night.
